2021 Modeina Community Fund a huge success!

December 2021 in Events & Local Area

$15,000 awarded by Modeina Community Fund

Ten not-for-profit groups operating in the Melton area have shared in $15,000 of financial grants distributed through the 2021 Manor Lakes Community Fund.

The successful recipients were announced at a presentation evening on December 17, with each group awarded a grant of $1,500 to support their local community project.

Suzie Woolard of Burnside Kindergarten, one of the worthy grant recipients, says they will use the funds to continue developing the kindergarten’s outdoor areas.

“We have been so fortunate to receive grants from the Modeina Community Fund for the last 5 years,” Suzie shares.

“We have been able to purchase items to enhance our outdoor space as well as start up a vegetable garden to use in our program.”

“We are so grateful for the support and our local community really benefits from these grants.”

Dennis Family Corporation, the developer of Modeina estate, has successfully operated Community Funds across its residential developments, both in Victoria and Queensland, since 2002 and distributed more than $850,000 in grants over that time.

Community groups in the Melton area alone have received more than $62,000 since the annual Modeina Community Fund commenced in 2017.

Melissa Munro, Dennis Family Corporation Marketing Manager, who hosted the presentation event said: “We are proud to support the local communities in areas where we operate our business. We believe their efforts greatly contribute towards the liveability of our estates.

An independent judging panel comprised of Melton City Councillor Steve Abboushi, who has generously supported previous Modeina Community Funds as a judge, and Maria Baliva, a local resident of Modeina, reviewed the applications to select the final list of recipients. To thank the judges, DFC donated $80 to a charity of each judge’s choice.
